She is a steering committee member of the National Latino Tobacco Control Network and is on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health, and works closely with the Healthy Americas Institute. She researches the feasibility of developing policies to eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke among Hispanic/Latinos and American Indians, and works on a project with tobacco retailers in the Korean, African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian and low SES non Hispanic white communities.
