Clinical Departments

The Department of Anesthesiology supports the busiest trauma service in the U.S., at Los Angeles General Medical Center, as well as the clinical activities of Keck Hospital of USC. As the field of anesthesiology grows increasingly specialized, our faculty teaches toward these concentrations, including cardiac anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, pain management and organ transplantation.

The Department of Dermatology is one of the nation’s leading academic dermatologic centers, ranking among the top 25 in the U.S. in NIH research funding.

The Department of Emergency Medicine has the responsibility for initial triage, evaluation and management of up to 500 patients daily at Los Angeles General Medical Center.

The primary objective of the Department of Family Medicine is to prepare future generations of primary care leaders to treat patients across their lifespans.

The largest department at the Keck School, the Department of Medicine focuses on cutting-edge research, exceptional clinical care and world-class educational programs.

The goal of the Department of Neurology is to reduce the burden of neurological disorders on humankind through research, education and patient care. Department faculty includes MDs, MD/PhDs, PhDs, 16 residents and seven fellows, with three accredited fellowship programs and more than 100 research technicians, research and clinical nurses, and other support staff.

The Department of Neurological Surgery is dedicated to developing subspecialty expertise within the field of neurological surgery.

Our nationally recognized Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology includes specialties in high-risk pregnancy, reproduction genetics, breast disease, infertility, contraception and cancer.

The Department of Ophthalmology continues to be ranked among the top 15 ophthalmology programs in the country by both U.S. News & World Report and Ophthalmology Times.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic programs in the U.S., offering a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

We are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care for a wide range of disorders affecting the head and neck, working with diverse populations across Los Angeles.

The Department of Pathology is one of the largest pathology departments in the U.S., providing diagnostic laboratory services for the Los Angeles General Medical Center and Keck Medical Center.

The Department of Pediatrics is composed of faculty members at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Los Angeles General Medical Center and the College Health facility on USC’s University Park Campus.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences integrates science, medicine, education, psychology and behavioral health into a prominent clinical and research department.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is led by physicians from the best radiation programs in the country. Residents work directly with patients and participate in specialized research projects.

The Department of Radiology provides imaging services at three major institutions (Los Angeles General Medical Center, Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center).
