Patient-Centered Depression Care in the Public Sector (PI: Lagomasino): A randomized controlled trial of a collaborative care intervention for depression in three large, public sector, primary care settings in Los Angeles that serve predominantly low-income Latinos. Examined patient, provider, and administrator preferences for depression care before and after implementation of the intervention, in which patients were offered brief psychotherapy, medication, or both.

Self-Management of Depression and Medical Illness (PI: Lagomasino): Examined the use of English- and Spanish-language patient self-management groups, which provide patient education and activation, to improve care for persons who have both depression and chronic medical illness.

Evaluation of a pilot randomized controlled trial to study depression-specific treatments for patients seeking care within a public emergency department (PI: Lagomasino): Examined the feasibility and effectiveness of a depression intervention for improving access to depression care for low-income patients in a large urban, medical emergency room.

Improving Depression Treatment for Older Minority Adults (PI: Lagomasino): Piloted a collaborative care depression intervention for older minority adults in a public sector primary care clinic.
