About the Center
The USC Research Center for Liver Diseases (RCLD) was originally founded in March 1995 and has been continuously funded by a grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK P30 DK048522) for four consecutive 5-year cycles through 2/21. Dr. Neil Kaplowitz is the interim Director.
The RCLD is one of 17 Digestive Diseases Research Centers (DDRCC) in the United States, whose purpose is to achieve the key goal of facilitating and fostering interdisciplinary collaborative research, which leads to a better understanding of the pathobiology of diseases of the liver and digestive tract and the development of new treatments for these diseases through the use of our Cores, Pilot/Feasibility (P/F) support and Enrichment Program.
