November 7th is the birthday of Marie Curie who is only person to win a Nobel Prize in 2 different scientific categories, and the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in Physics for her work discovering radium and developing the theory of radioactivity. Through the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the Society for Women in Radiation Oncology (SWRO), a new social media movement #WomenWhoCurie serves to recognize her important work as well as celebrate the female radiation oncologists of today. USC’s Department of Radiation Oncology is honored to participate in the celebration and further promote the growing diversity in our field.
