USC Stroke Program at the LA Times Festival of Books

Volunteers at LA Times Festival of Books

The spirit of volunteerism and commitment to excellence make us proud to be serving together as a USC family.

The Keck Medicine of USC Stroke Program and the Nurses of USC from across the enterprise joined the Keck Medicine of USC Health Pavilion on April 23-24 during the much anticipated 2022 LA Times Festival of Books. In addition to hosting hundreds of events, exhibitor booths, author signings, and performances, this event also offered health screening services and resources to participants.

The spirit of volunteerism and commitment to excellence make us proud to be serving together as a USC family. Our team offered stroke education and blood pressure screenings to raise awareness to over 2000 participants, teaching the community about stroke warning signs, risk factors, and stroke prevention.

May is Stroke Awareness Month, so it was a tremendous opportunity to encourage everyone to be Stroke Heroes and educate family, friends, and colleagues about the signs of stroke.

We look forward to participating again next year!
