Two new pages on the KSOM intranet have been launched, created by the school’s COVID-19 Research Resources and Research Continuity task force groups.
The COVID-19 Research Resources task force, led by Dr. Michele Kipke, has been charged with facilitating COVID-19-related research at the Keck School, and also with identifying existing resources. Five affinity research groups have been created to capture research activities that range from the preclinical to clinical and also population-, community- and data-driven activities.
The COVID-19 Research Resources page will serve as a central repository for resources, including a list of COVID-19-related funding opportunities, informational webinars, and a link to the COVID-19 current research index. Additionally, affinity group members can get up-to-date information on upcoming affinity group meetings and reference materials noted in previous meetings.
The Research Continuity task force, led by Dr. Andy McMahon, oversees efforts to maintain research momentum and redirect research objectives. Also, the task force is hoping to create more opportunities for collaboration and community between KSOM researchers and those from other USC schools. The Research Continuity page will feature various writing, teaching and data training resources, in addition to a list of upcoming events on both campuses that focus on ongoing non-COVID-19 research.
With the launch of these two new intranet pages, both the COVID-19 Research Resources and Research Continuity task forces hope to encourage further engagement and input from the KSOM community and the USC community at large.
