The Watt Family Continues A Tradition of Support

Scott and Obaida Watt with their four sons.

Building on their family’s longstanding commitment to USC, Scott Watt and his wife, Obaida, donated 1,000 lunches from Jersey Mike’s Subs to the doctors, nurses and staff at Keck Hospital to thank them for their hard work and dedication during the current crisis. The son of the late Southern California developer, philanthropist and former USC Trustee R.A. Watt (for whom Watt Way on campus is named), Scott Watt said he wanted to carry on the Watt legacy of community service by saying “thank you” to the Keck team for its incredible work through such difficult circumstances. “I wanted to thank the frontline workers for their service,” he said. “We are so thankful that they’re willing to step up. It’s a cliché, but we want to make sure they know that they’re appreciated. Facing so much of the unknown every day, it’s absolutely courageous what they’re doing.” Scott’s wife Obaida was equally impressed, issuing a statement praising the entire Keck team. “Thank you to all of the healthcare workers who selflessly give themselves to others,” Mrs. Watt wrote. “You are true heroes and should be recognized as such. Love and blessings to you all. Stay safe and know we are all thinking of you and praying for you. Your Trojan family, the Watts.” Thanks from everyone at USC to Scott and Obaida, two dedicated and generous members of the Trojan family.
