One out of every two adults will develop chronic kidney disease during their lifetimes. To help these patients, USC scientists and clinicians are putting their feet to the task as part of the UKRO Los Angeles Marathon Charity Relay Team. They’ll be running the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, March 19, to fund young investigators researching kidney injury and repair, and to translate discoveries to new treatments.
USC relay runners are: Andy McMahon, Jill McMahon, Qing Liu, Nils Lindstrom, Tracy Tran and Veronica Haro-Acosta from the Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at USC (stemcell.usc.edu); and Kenneth Hallows, Nuria Pastor-Soler, Daniel Rivera and Valeria Mancino from the USC/UKRO Kidney Research Center (ukrocharity.org). Family and friends running include Janet Gamble, Mina Poppius and Susan Josephson.
