We are proud to announce that Robert Holloway, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics, Julienne Jacobson, MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences, Bradley Peterson, MD, Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences, Catherine Scott, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences, and Steven Siegel, MD, PhD, Professor, Chair, and Chief of Clinical Services in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine of USC and Chief Mental Health and Wellness Officer at Keck Medicine of USC, have been named to Los Angeles Magazine’s 2022 list of “Top Doctors” in Los Angeles.

The list highlights hundreds of healthcare providers in multiple medical fields across Los Angeles County. Results are based on a Los Angeles Magazine survey that asked physicians throughout the county to identify doctors they considered to be at the top of their fields.

Robert Holloway, MD

Dr. Robert Holloway has been an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics and an Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) since 2014. His expertise in areas of SSRI treatment for pediatric chronic pain, psychiatric disorders in transgender youth, and mental illness prevention has translated to exceptional clinical care to patients and training of emerging physicians. He has mentored faculty, served in various advisory and consultantship roles, and served as past President of both the California chapter of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Southern California Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Of note, Dr. Holloway is the Director of the CHLA Transgender Psychiatry Fellowship (non-ACGME). Through his numerous lectures, symposia, and Grand Rounds, Dr. Holloway has made significant contributions to professional knowledge related to the diagnosis and treatment of complex child and adolescent behavioral and developmental disorders.

Julienne Jacobson, MD

Dr. Julienne Jacobson has been a faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences since 2002. She is an accomplished scholar, author, and physician with honors and awards recognizing her for contributions in teaching in child and adolescent psychiatry. Her many peer reviewed publications and presentations, invited lectures, seminars, and Grand Rounds continue to advance knowledge in the diagnosis and management of delirium in pediatric patients, pain management in children and adolescents, end of life issues in pediatric patients, and pediatric catatonia. Having served as the former Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Ward Chief at LAC+USC Medical Center, and – for 20 years – as an Attending and Consultation-Liaison psychiatrist at CHLA, Dr. Jacobson has garnered a reputation for exceptional care of some of our most vulnerable patients – children.

Bradley Peterson, MD

Dr. Bradley Peterson is a Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry with Tenure. He is the Vice Chair for Research and Chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is also the Inaugural Director of the Institute for the Developing Mind, Co-Director of the Behavioral Health Institute, and an Attending Physician at CHLA.  Over the course of his vast experience as a scientist, physician, teacher, and mentor, he has made overwhelming contributions in interdisciplinary research, education, training, and clinical services. He has published 321 refereed journal articles, 13 peer reviews, 28 reviews, chapters, and editorials, given 36 distinguished and invited lectures, and received numerous awards and recognitions for his work in childhood neurodevelopmental disorders. Most notable among them include his more than 44 research awards and grants supporting his research and studies in magnetic resonance imaging and developmental psychopathologies.

Catherine Scott, MD

Dr. Catherine Scott has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences for nearly 20 years. Her specialized work with survivors of trauma has helped advance our training programs in trauma-focused cases and expand our residency curriculum. In addition to her numerous honors and awards, she has presented and published widely in the area of psychological trauma, including as co-author of Principles of Trauma Therapy, a highly regarded textbook of trauma treatment. She has held numerous prominent roles and is currently an Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Psychiatry at LAC+USC Medical Center.

Steven Siegel, MD, PhD

Dr. Steven Siegel has served as the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences since 2016 after an illustrious tenure at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2019 he received the Franz Alexander Chair in Psychiatry, and in 2021 he was appointed as Chief Mental Health and Wellness Officer at Keck Medicine of USC. Respected by colleagues throughout Los Angeles and across the nation, Dr. Siegel has worked with our outstanding faculty members and trainees at USC to improve the delivery of clinical care to residents of Los Angeles and beyond. He has made significant contributions in the treatment of schizophrenia and psychosis, fostered recruitment and retention of trainees from underrepresented students in research, published over 150 manuscripts, provided exceptional psychiatric care to countless patients, and is trusted by those patients and the community for his expert and compassionate approach to care. Most notably, he has brought our department and mental health system to the forefront of world-class mental health care under his strategic leadership.
