Radiation Oncology faculty residents walk/run for a breakthrough in brain tumor treatment

Two of Radiation Oncology’s Faculty Residents, Lydia Ng and Shelly Bian, represented KSOM as walk/run participants in the Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K.

Two of Radiation Oncology’s Faculty Residents, Shelly Bian and Lydia Ng, represented the Keck School of Medicine as walk/run participants at American Brain Tumor Association’s Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K (BT5K) walk/run on Saturday, April 9th. Lydia Ng was the team captain of the USC Brain Tumor Busters. Both Lydia and Shelly ran the entire 5K.

Keck Medical Center of USC and the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center of USC were a silver sponsor of the 5k. The sponsorship included a tent and table, an ad in the virtual goodie bag, and the medical centers’ name on the event t-shirts. There were approximately 780 people registered. The event raised $132,371 thus far. There is one month left of fundraising the final total is calculated.
