Kwok “Chris” Im, a third-year PhD student in the USC Neuroscience Graduate Program, says his grandfather, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, is his inspiration in his study of how immunotherapeutics can battle the disease. Hong Kong-born Im was part of USC’s Bridging the Gaps program, which pairs underrepresented minority students with mentors for an eight-week internship at the Keck School.
