Are you a KSOM postdoc or graduate student working on a manuscript? Whether you’re staring at a blank page, or going through the umpteenth round of revisions, this free workshop will get you ready to submit your manuscript to a scientific journal.
Offered via Zoom, the 4-week workshop will start on Tuesday, May 26, at 2pm. Lectures will offer writing advice and detailed guidance about all sections of a manuscript, and small group workshops will provide focused opportunities for peer feedback.
Scientist Gage Crump and writer Cristy Lytal will co-teach the workshop. As a Professor of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Crump publishes in top journals including Science, Development and Nature Genetics. As the Communications Manager for USC Stem Cell, Lytal regularly edits faculty manuscripts in preparation for submission and teaches science writing courses.
Postdoctoral trainees and graduate students from any KSOM department are welcome to join. Participants must be actively working on a manuscript, and be available to attend all sessions, due to the highly participatory nature of writing workshops.
