Co-principal investigators, Carolina Abdala, PhD, and Christopher Shera, PhD, have received news that their NIH R01 grant will be awarded for the project “Advanced Detection and Differential Diagnosis of Hearing Loss Using Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE). The aim is to modernize and advance OAE assessment well beyond the rudimentary goal of detecting hearing loss and provide a degree of diagnostic specificity that will facilitate personalized intervention for individuals with hearing loss.
