The division of cardiac surgery is committed to offering its fellows and residents excellence in all aspects of cardiac surgical training.

Our fellowship and residency programs are designed to establish superior technical skills and develop the finest cardiac surgeons in the country. Our division features both an Integrated and Independent Cardiothoracic Residency Program as well as a Congenital Cardiac Program.

Congenital Cardiac Fellowship Program

The purpose of the program is to train cardiac surgical residents who have completed an ACGME-accredited program in congenital cardiothoracic surgery, providing a basis to understand normal and abnormal pediatric cardiovascular conditions and their pathophysiology.

The Independent Cardiothoracic Training Program at Keck Medicine of USC is currently accepting applications for two residents per year. Graduates of the program will have achieved high levels of both academic and surgical proficiency.
