A book co-written by Amytis Towfighi, MD, associate professor of neurology (clinical scholar), was a Silver winner at the 2021 Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Awards.

The book, What You Must Know About Strokes: How to Recover from a Stroke and Prevent Another Stroke, co-written with Purdue University health and nutrition researcher Laura J. Stevens, MSci, was among the finalists in the Health & Fitness category for the IBPA awards. See the entire list of winners and finalists at the 33rd annual awards program, held May 11-14. 

Towfighi’s and Stevens’s book was noted as a “useful guide” that “offers all the information stroke survivors and their loved ones need to know in order to ask the right questions and make informed decisions.”
