Advocacy Urged by Dr. Thomas Gellhaus, ACOG Immediate Past President

On Friday, March 30, 2018, Dr Gellhaus gave an inspiring OB/GYN grand rounds stressing that caring for patients does not end in the exam room or the surgical suite. He urged that every OB/GYN, resident, fellow, faculty, and practitioner, should be an ACOG Advocate for women’s health by learning more about their legislative and elected officials, search active legislation, and find opportunities to take action and participate. Access to all of the above can be obtained by going to acog.org/advocacy.

Pictured with Dr. Gellhaus, who is a clinical professor in the OB/GYN department at the University of Iowa, are our three junior fellow ACOG resident representatives, Drs. Erica Davenport, Lauryn Gabby and Steffanie Wright in one picture, and Dr. Laila Muderspach, department chair, Dr. Christina Dancz, residency program director, and some of our residents in the other.
