Fellowship Programs

The Division of Neurocritical Care and Stroke offers two fellowship programs, an ACGME-accredited Vascular Neurology fellowship, and a UCNS-accredited Neurocritical Care fellowship.

The Vascular fellows will receive training in transient ischemic attack (TIA), acute and sub-acute ischemic stroke, and intracerebral hemorrhage, raised intracranial pressure and patients undergoing therapeutic hypothermia over 12 months. The fellowship (PGY5) will include training in clinical vascular neurologic cases with an emphasis on evaluation of stroke etiology and prevention of stroke and rehabilitation of stroke. In addition, training will include participation in pre and post-op management of neurosurgical and endovascular patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, Moya Moya and other vascular diseases.

The Neurocritical Care fellowship program is designed to provide a foundation upon which fellows are trained in alignment with the six ACGME core competencies to identify and treat neurological emergencies as the primary treating physician. The neurocritical care rotations enable the fellow to evaluate and treat neuro emergencies, and understand the variety of complications that arise in patients with brain injury.
